Getting ETH onto Robinhood Chain
Getting ETH onto Robinhood Chain
Everything on Holyhood — launching, buying, selling, gas — is paid in ETH held on Robinhood Chain. ETH sitting on Ethereum mainnet, on another L2, or on an exchange cannot be used here until you move it across.
There are three ways to get it.
1. Bridge from Ethereum
Robinhood Chain is an Arbitrum-stack layer 2, so it has a canonical bridge as well as faster third-party options.
Canonical bridge — the trustless default. It requires no third-party validators; its security comes from Ethereum itself.

- Deposits arrive in roughly 10 minutes.
- Withdrawals back to Ethereum take about 7 days, because of the challenge period, and finish with a claim step on Ethereum that costs L1 gas. Budget for that before you bridge in.
Faster third-party bridges — seconds to minutes, at the cost of trusting the bridge operator rather than the chain:
| Bridge | Speed |
|---|---|
| Relay | Seconds |
| Across | Seconds |
| Chainlink CCIP / Transporter | Minutes |
| LayerZero / Stargate | Minutes |
| LI.FI / 0x | Seconds to minutes |
The official list is maintained at https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/bridging/. Check there rather than trusting a bridge link someone sends you.
2. Buy with a card
The Buy page — linked from the footer — has a card on-ramp run by Transak. Pick an amount ($50, $100, $250, $500 or your own, minimum $20), press Continue to payment, and complete the purchase in the embedded widget. Transak handles the identity check and settlement; Holyhood never sees your card details. Any limits, supported countries and fees are Transak's, and are shown inside their widget.
Read this before using it. The on-ramp currently delivers ETH on Ethereum mainnet, not on Robinhood Chain — Robinhood Chain is not yet a supported Transak destination. So a card purchase is step one of two: buy the ETH, then bridge it across using one of the routes above. Despite what the page says, funds do not arrive ready to trade.
TODO for the team: either configure a native Robinhood Chain destination once Transak supports one, or change the
/buypage copy — "Funds arrive in your connected wallet — ready to trade" is not true today, and this is the first thing a new user does.
3. Testnet faucet
If you are on the testnet, you do not bridge anything — request test ETH from https://faucet.testnet.chain.robinhood.com/. It has no value and cannot be moved to mainnet.
Things that go wrong
Sending to the wrong network. The single most common way to lose money. Your address is the same across EVM chains, but the funds only exist on the chain they were sent to. Confirm the destination network is Robinhood Chain before you press send — especially when withdrawing from an exchange.
Bridging everything. Keep a little ETH on Ethereum if you ever plan to withdraw through the canonical bridge, since the final claim step costs L1 gas.
Forgetting gas. Every action on Holyhood — a launch, a buy, a sell, an approval, a claim — is a transaction and costs a small amount of ETH. Do not spend your entire balance on a trade.
Bridging a token instead of ETH. Gas on Robinhood Chain is paid in ETH. Arriving with only a stablecoin leaves you unable to transact.
